As of week 18 I have experienced daily muscle tightening in my back at the rib-cage just below my shoulder blades - it tightens up as the afternoon and evening progress and only lying on my back helps. Mornings are fine, but I am now at week 23 and this chronic daily occurrence is very uncomfortable. When it tightens it is also painful in front between the ribs at the solar plexus, such that it hurts to fill my lungs fully. Neither my doctor, nor my physical therapist has any idea what the deal is. I have eliminated all upper body weight bearing and stretching doesn't help. I do not have any old injuries in the ribs or shoulders and I have not gained much weight and the baby is not showing much yet either. Any suggestions?
