After a faint positive home preganancy test at 2 days past the date of my period, followed by a negative one several days later, at 7 days 'overdue' I had a sharp pain and emitted a small amount of blood from the vagina. A pregnancy test at the doctors surgery 2 days later showed a faint positive. the doctor referred me to the hospital for ultrasound (both on my stomach and vaginal) -this was 2days later at at 42 dys since my last period on a 30 day cycle. they could see nothing on ultrasound (although said this could be becasue it was too small) they then did another urine test which was negative. I have constant grumbling abdominal pain. Does the fact they saw nothing conclusively mean I am not pregnant, should I have asked for a blood test, and how should i proceed now ? Fiona 3/01/2003
