Would like some answers

I had my 2nd IUI on the 15th following a 150mg course of clomid. On the 13th I had and ultrasound which showed a good sized follicle(2.5cm) and an HCG trigger shot late that night. I have been on 100mg progesterone suppositories since cycle day 21 and it is now cycle day 31 and my blood test yesterday was negative. Last month I started my cycle on day 31 while taking progesterone. When the doc asked if I had started my period yet and I answered no, he said to keep taking the progesterone for another week or until my period comes, whichever comes first. He said it was possible that I could still be pregnant. He had a woman that worked for him that tested negative four days past her missed period and the test just did not pick up on the HCG in her body. She was indeed pregnant. What could cause that? And does it mean trouble for a pregnancy if it isnt showing up this late?

I thought a negative blood test at the time of a missed period was the final result. Does this synerio happen very often? Is it possible that the HCG shot I recieved late at night on the 13th didnt cause the release of the egg 36 hrs later as expected and that I possibly didnt ovulate when we thought I did? I am going to injectibles next month(Gonal_F). I asked him what cycle day I was to start and he said cycle day 5 but I needed an ultrasound before starting. Why would that be as I didnt need one between cycles on Clomid?

Thanx for your time,

Melissa
