Terbutaline's side effects on my babyFrom: Sue (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Dec 2002 21:02:19 -0600 (CST)
I am a 31yo late in my 32nd week, pregnant with my second child. I was given one shot of terbutaline to stop contractions. They assured me there would be no adverse effects on my baby, but now I am not feeling so sure. I have read numerous things to the contrary. I do not know the dosage I was given, but it was only one injection. Would a morphine shot have been just as effective? Does morphine pose the same side effects? Which one is the better choice with regard to effectives and adverse effect on my baby -- should I have to make this decision again. Please help me I am very worried. My first born has a neurological disorder with unknown origin. I am very mindful of the effects any drugs on my baby and well, basically, everything scares me. Thanks so much for your time.
