I think it is a reasonable option in a patient who is counseled that 85-92% is not 100%. There will be cramps and bleeding, and probably no need for surgery, but if you are having this given by a doctor who doesn't do D&Cs, such as a family practice doctor,this is the wrong choice. Surgical back-up is a must. I personally think it is the way to go in early cases of elective or even abnormal pregnancy terminations
