As for the person who rudely made fun of you, just ignore it. Masturbation will not harm your baby, just as intercourse and oral sex will not harm your baby. For future reference, down syndrome and such are caused by defects in your baby's DNA. There is nothing that you can do to cause or prevent such disorders. I suggest going to the library and checking out a few pregnancy books. I've learned a lot from them (the book you always see women reading in movies "What to Expect When You're Expecting" really is an excellent book - it should be required reading for all expecting parents) They have answers to questions that I never even thought to ask my doctor. Good luck with your pregnancy!
