Re: Chances of miscarriage for healthy 25 year old

I don't believe the odds are as high as 1 in 3. Of all women who get pregnant (including those that miscarry before they even know, and perhaps never even know that they miscarry) I've heard that it is estimated to be about 1 in 4 (anywhere from 20 to 30% of all pregnant women). If in fact you are 7 weeks, just a few more (5 or so) until your risk drops considerably. I think it was wrong of your doctor to say not to get excited. Were there other reasons besides the "1 in 3 risk"? Were your hcg levels not rising or do you have symptoms that would cause your doctor to worry? While I know that of course you are going to worry until you see a little teeny tiny baby on the ultrasound screen, try to relax a little bit. All that worry isn't good for the baby! I'll keep you in my prayers! Good luck!
