Progesterone level of 15 @ 4 wks normal?From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 23 Dec 2002 12:53:31 -0600 (CST)
Just a quick question. At 4 wks pregnant, my progesterone level came back at 15 and hcg at 529. My OB recommended prog. supplements (suppositories) for the "low" progesterone, but everything I read indicates 15 as a normal level for this stage. I am also having a hard time finding any information that indicates progesterone therapy *after* a positive pregnancy test does any good at all. I'm obviously very wary of any hormonal supplements during pregnancy, so am looking for information so I can make an informed decision. Is 15 considered low for progesterone at 4 weeks? Also, does the progesterone level climb as the pregnancy progresses as hcg does? Would it helpful to have another blood draw in a week or so? Thanks in advance!
