Only God knows the future...

It sounds like you had some other complications... you should find out exactly what happened and why. A good book about pregnancy in general is Pregnancy Childbirth and the Newborn by Penny Simkin. Sheila Kitzinger is another excellent author. Educate yourself and make sure you understand what the doc or midwife is doing and why.

is this pregnancy with the same man as before? Toxemia is much less likely in subsequent children than the first, if the biological father is the same. If it is a different father, then there is a higher likelihood of toxemia.

How did you eat at your last pregnancy?

Eat better this time! Get at least 60 grams of protein. Go to the library and get a book that tells you how to figure this out. Look on the labels of milk, meat and cheese-- it will tell you how much protein is in a cup of milk or 1 egg.

If you start to have signs of pre-eclampsia, then eat lots of meat. Eat a whole chicken three days in a row. That will stop it, if you do it.

While you're pregnant-- don't eat junk food. Eat whole grains, veggies, fruits and plenty of protein. Don't have any sweets at all, and of course, no soda pop, no coffee, no chocolate, no alcohol, no other drugs, legal or illegal.

Make sure you find a good midwife or doctor, especially one who knows about nutrition.

Take care....
