Re: Concerns about LupronFrom: Alicia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 11 Dec 2002 17:13:05 -0600 (CST)
Wendy, There are TONS of info on lupron in the pregnancy-birth and endometriosis forums. Lupron basically shuts down your ovaries. Ovulation isn't supposed to occur, meaning little if any hormonal changes. My doctor compared it to a menopausal state. I was on lupron to treat endo (1 injection every three months) I thought it was working (no periods, a few hot flashes, but that is all) and 2 weeks after I got the second injection I found out I was 7 weeks pregnant so it didn't exactly shut down my ovaries. I was told there are the usual menopausal symptoms while on lupron and for a few months after treatment while your body returns to normal. I've heard that some women have problems for months after treatment and others have none. Look through the archives and you should find all of the answers you're looking for. (and I don't reccomend trying to get pregnant while on lupron - a lot of worrying! some info on this too in the October archives) Good luck!
