**DOCTOR'S??** Depo Provera and Gastric By-pass?

I have read on several web-sites that hormonal birthcontrol such as depo provera is not as effective due to the rapid weight loss and the weight fluctuations that we experience. I am on my third and LAST shot of depo.. and therefore wondering due to this information that I have read.. should I be using another form of birthcontrol at this point. My next shot due date was Dec. 10th, but I will not be getting it due to experiencing some HORRIBLE side effects of this shot.

Any information would be appreciated.. thank you..
