will a circlage really help? any meticulous precaution against still birth?? dr. aziz , kindly help. From: dr. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 2 Dec 2002 23:39:24 -0600 (CST)
hi all, i am at 26 weeks, second pregnancy, gestational diabetic with a mild polyhydramnios.placenta already grade 2, baby 2 weeks ahead. past history of premature labour & foetal loss at 31 weeks due to polyhydramnios, but worth mentioning here that even when the membranes ruptured spontaneously at 31 weeks, the cervix was tightly closed.had to have a c-section then. some of my obstetrician friends advise me to go for a circlage, but will it help or cause harm?( risk of infection etc). also this talk of stillbirths on the forum and me having diabetes, albeit well controlled, makes me queasy. what extra care should i take and what all tests to be done to prevent this from happening?(DR. AZIZ, PLEASE HELP) i am on alert for foetal movements and will notice if they decrease. please advise as the way things happen in india is quite different from where u all are. this baby is too precious for me.trying to keep calm but rational and taking care. that is the best approach. thanks all.it feels good to come here. anu
