questions -- repostFrom: dawn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Nov 2002 17:52:50 -0600 (CST)
I have an appt. with a fertility doc next week, but was looking over my test results today and have a couple of questions. Any advice? (1) My last 21 day progesterone level was extremely low -- 0.5 ng/mL -- so my doc told me I wasn't ovulating this cycle. Today (day 45 of my cycle) I started my period, after a few days of pms cramps; I have mild cramps still. Is this my period (i.e. I ovulated), or could it be anovulatory bleeding? I used an ovulation predictor kit btw days 8 and 23, but when my doc told me there was no chance of ovulating this cycle, I didn't go past day 23. Isn't 0.5 ng/mL a post-menopausal level for progesterone? (2) My husband's sperm analysis came back with these results -- my (not very good) ob-gyn told me they looked normal, but the report says "borderline morphology". Should we be worried? Would abstaining from alcohol help? Liquefaction: 30 minutes Volume: 2.8 mL Viscosity: within normal limits Color: within normal limits pH: 7.9 Sperm count: 129.5 per mL Total sperm: 362.6 million Motility: 67.6% Progression: good Agglutination: 0 White blood cells: 0 Morphology: Normal oval -- 47%, small head -- 1%, large head -- 4%, taper forms -- 4%, double head -- 0, pyriform--3%, cytoplasmic -- 0, amorphous -- 32%, tail defects -- 9% Is there anything we can do lifestyle-wise to improve things? Or do things look okay as they are? Thanks for the info! best, Dawn
