Just had hernia surgery and have couple of question for doctor onlyFrom: anon (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Nov 2002 14:32:22 -0600 (CST)
I just had a groin hernia fixed by open surgery wed. morning. I am still in alot of pain and have had to take 14 Norco 10/325 pain killers. I did not relize how painful this surgery would be. I have had many surgeries one being a bilateral mascectomy and not seemed to bother me like this one. Could it be the extra weight of the baby making the recovery harder. I tried not to take a painkiller this morning but got in so much pain it was unbearable and had to take one. My braxton hicks constractions seem to be bothering me more and the baby is kicking stronger and more than ever. Could I be going into labor because of the stress of surgery on my body? What would happen to my sutures if I went into labor and it could not be stopped, would I have to have a cecearan. I am 30 weeks pregnant right now and am also wondering what side effects the pain killers have on my baby. Everyone has told me everything is relitively safe but I am still wo.rried. Any info and advice would be great. Thank you.
