it can take a while for a kidney infetion to resolve -- drink LOTS of water and continue your antibiotics. Obviously, if you are still in a lot of pain, you should follow up with yoru doctor

it certainly is not rare -- you will have a cyst on your ovary in early pregnancy, called the corpus luteum. It produces progesterone to keep the early pregnancy going
