Which is better - Clomid or ProgesteroneFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Nov 2002 00:41:38 -0600 (CST)
Hi! My husband and I are trying to conceive our fourth baby. My previous three pregnancies were all normal and to term. I am 36 and had my son at age 35. We've been trying now for almost one year.... I went in the spring to have a serum progesterone check which came back at 20.2. Normal, yes? I now notice that I spot (only upon internal checks or after bowel movements) starting at around 10 to 11 days past ovulation...it comes and goes until my period starts at 14 days past ovulation. My temp usually drops at 13 days past. My doctor suggested trying Clomid for perhaps a weak ovulation -- would this be advisable or would a natural progesterone help? I'm more concerned that this bit of spotting is preventing a pregnancy or that perhaps my ovulations are weak. Since I am 36, we feel time is of the essence. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help!
