I have a question for the forum regarding your opinion on the success of clomid in a situation like mine. Early on when I started my periods, I was fairly regular. In high school I ran 40+ miles per week and began having irregular periods, for which bcp was prescribed. I stayed on it for 10+ years. (I'm 24 now) I d/c taking bcp in early september. After 50+ days, no period; I called my dr. and they performed bloodwork, all of which was normal. My dheas and testosterone were at the higher end of normal, but my dr. wasn't concerned. I took 12 days of prometrium; I started my period (very very light flow/spotting the entire time) on the 12th day. I went back for a transvag. US recently (one month later). It reportedly was normal-no abnormalities with ovaries. My dr. said one ovary was a little larger than the other but it was within normal range. Based on charting and Fertility Monitor, I did not O this past cycle. My dr. prescribed clomid this cycle days 3-7 once I take the prometrium to induce my period. How successful is clomid at "jump starting" ovaries in women who are annovulatory after bcp? Are there any other tests you recommend requesting at this point in time? Also, since last time on prometrium I never got a "full" all out flow, what day to I count as day 1? It was mostly spotting or very very light (could be taken care of with a pantyliner). If it reaches the outside of my body, is it adequate flow to call day 1? Thanks, Beth
