I have had 5 losses in a row before having a child. I sought out the assistance of a reproductive endocronologist at my local teaching hospital. He specialized in recurrent loss. If there are no chromosonal issues, I would suggest she look into have a hystosalipingogram, and perhaps a sonohystogram to look at her lining of the uterus, and tubes. If all is well there perhaps they can look into leutal phase defects,(when the lining of the uterus is not prepared properly for implantation and fetal growth). They can do some staging biopsies to determine if the thickness of the lining is in synch with her cycle. I have had all of the testing done myself and it came down to a hormone imbalance and early ovulation. My treatment consisted of progesterone suppositories and aspirin at 2 days after ovulation and until 14 weeks of pregnancy. I have had several losses where the heartbeat had stopped around 8-9weeks, one chemical pregnancy (no implantation), and a blighted ovum what you daughter has now. There are several factors that are involved in recurrent loss and the best thing for her to do is to seek out a recurrent loss specialist and take some time to heal emotionally. Best of luck to your family.
