Re: Hospital Stays for C-sectionsFrom: Victoria (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 22 Nov 2002 18:19:26 -0600 (CST)
When I pre-registered at the hospital I was given forms that stated that my insurance would pay for as long as the doctor deemed medically necessary, but that if I felt it was too soon I had the right to appeal. We have a small community hospital here and they go by your physical medical condition. Some women here go home the next day for a vaginal delivery and some stay a bit longer. It depends on how long and hard the labor/delivery was and whether or not complications occurred. I do not know anyone who has had a c-sect, so I'm not sure how that works here, but I think it is 3-4 days for uncomplicated surgery/recovery.
