Re: Question regarding short Luteal PhaseFrom: offpill (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 7 Nov 2002 04:38:11 -0600 (CST)
Fertility Friend is pretty easy to use, and if you pay you get an advisor to help you interpret your charts. There are other sites as well that support BBT charts such as Babymed http://www.babymed.com - this site is also great for TTC obsessors. A great book on the subject is Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It's really invaluable. There are also lots of charts you can download off the internet, just put in a search engine 'BBT chart' and you're bound to come up with tonnes of information and some charts to boot. Some useful pointers: 1. Take your temperature at the same time, before you get out of bed 2. Don't overread your chart. Small fluctuations in temperature are generally just because of environmental changes. Your looking for general trends and significant rises (usually) 3. BBT isn't an 'exact' science so unless your luteal phase is really short (ie. under 10 days of high temps) or you have many days of spotting before your period begins (more than 3) then you're probably okay. But saying that, you could still have a progesterone problem which doesn't show up as a shortened luteal phase. Good luck! Not a doc.
