I would go with your doctor on this one, it is definatley a reason for a c/section. I went into labour with my second child and my amniotic fluid was meconium stained. i was rushed in for an emergency c/section. When he was born he had inhaled the meconium and became seriously ill. At less than 24 hours old he went on a lung machine called ECMO. It was a very risky procedure (90% chance of brain damage or death) but luckily he came out of the whole episode without any lasting damage. I was told in no uncertain terms if the ecmo machine wasn't avaliable or he hadn't been delivered at that time he would have died. I don't want to frighten you but please trust your doctor on this. It is not worth possibly losing your baby because you don't want a section.

Hope everything goes really well for you.
