Re: Pregnancy after 40From: lynn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 02 Nov 2002 23:35:39 -0500
Candy, May I just add that if you are thinking of having a baby, to pursue it aggressively NOW. The older you get, the older your eggs are and the tougher it is to get pregnant in most cases. That's definitely been the case with me, and I'm 37. You mentioned that you've had unprotected sex and not gotten pregnant. Depending on how often of course, this is a little worrisome, and if I were you I would go right to an RE. Don't waste precious months at this point in hoping to get pregnant naturally. Incidentally, once I did give in myself (after almost 4 years of trying) and went to an RE, I got pregnant with my son on my 1st month of injectibles. Seems all I needed was that boost. Unfortunately, I'm not in a financial position right now to do this again, otherwise I would. Good Luck to You. Lynn
