indomethacin for polyhydramniosFrom: dr. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 Oct 2002 21:44:24 -0600 (CST)
hi all, i am 33 year old, pregnant for the second time. the last time had fatal outcome due to PROM due to polyhydramnios and baby succumbed to ARDS. this time developed mild hydramnios again in the 20th week. my GTT shows one abnormal reading 1 hour post glucose. am on insulin 5 units pre and post meals and blood sugar is controlled now.am on a 1400 cal salt restricted diabetic diet and on 25 mg indomethcin two times a day. just in a week, am feeling much better and the fluid seems to have decreased. will check by ultrasound today evening. is it safe to take indomethacin ..how long should be safe? if the fluid is normal now, should i be taken off the drug? how frequently shd i monitor the baby's ductus and amniotic fluid volume? any suggestions would be appreciated greatly. thanks in advance. anu
