Stillborn at 36 weeks-Drs please respondFrom: Carrie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 Oct 2002 21:18:01 -0600 (CST)
Hello, I am currently pregnant 8w3d this is my 4th. I had a m/c, then the 2nd pregnancy my daughter was stillborn @ 36 wks. I had "morning sickness" except it was all day. I lost about 20 lbs. Once the first trimester was over everything was normal. I always did my kick counts 10 within 15 minutes. Well in 9/9/94 I went in to my drs for a rout. appt. He told me that on Mon 9/12 he wanted me to go in for an u/s to make sure that the measurements were ok with how far along I was. With the early sickness etc. So I went in that Mon (did kick counts on Sun) I went to the dr & the tech asked if I did kick counts I did and what I thought was the baby moving. The Tech then got the radiologist who then came in & cont. to ask the same questions. He then went & got my dr. My dr asked same things and then informed me that there was no h/b. I decided to get admitted immediately & induced labor. I delivered the baby the next day. No cord wrapped around, no kinks in cord, placenta appeared normal. Autopsy came back everything appeared normal except obviouslously lack of oxygen. No real answers as to why. I had an friend whose husband was chief of pathology looked at everything and told me that sometimes the case is when the baby lies on the umbilical cord and cuts off oxygen. Have you heard of such cases. What could other possibilties that would cause that. I had healthy pregnancy after 10/10 apgar baby in '95 & I am now paranoid. I spotted for 2 wks I saw h/b last week it was around 150:)
