HCG levelFrom: Todd (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 30 Oct 2002 23:04:53 -0600 (CST)
My wife found out she was pregnant from a home test, and we went and got a blood test for the Dr. office. When the test came back, it showed that my wife had a pretty low HCG level, it was like 225. The nurse seemed concerned, and asked us to retest. 4 days later, we did retest, and it doubled to like 550 I think. The nurse asked my wife if she was spotting or cramping, and scheduled an appt for 5 weeks away. We are worried about a possible miscarriage due to my wife having one 2 years ago. We do have a healthy 11 month old son though. The nurse sounded concerned, but never told us anything. Should we be worried about a miscarriage, or is this the normal process. We think she is 5 weeks pregnant. Any help is appreciated. Thanks again Todd Lesser
