Amy-

I don't know how it affects a pregnancy or if you can take anything while you are pregnant so you should check into it asap! I had Shingles a year ago (not pregnant). I was 30 yrs. old, which is very young to get it, but it's stress related. It's form of chicken pox that comes out later in life. Everyone has a risk of Shingles at some point in their life. So, most likely you are extremely stressed and brought it out. I hope by now you have seen a doctor as it will get even more painful if you don't start the antibioctic immediately. I took vicadin as well to take the edge off, but it never really took the pain away completely. I pretty much rested for at least a week 1/2 because it hurt to go anywhere. Start soon or you could cause permanent nerve damage (lasting pain for several years). However, once you start the antibiotic the pain will slowly subside as each day passes. Hope this helps.
