brown stringy discharge

I am finding it hard to have a poo. sorry its to the point. The stringy brown discharge is noticable more when I wipe. It is mainly a dark brown discharge on my pad and there has been alot today, with small amounts of clotting. some times when i wipe i get red blood but just spotting. Friday night was scary as i felt it was running out of me. some time i can go for a wee and then walk to another room and i feel like the blood is just running out of me but when i check there is about 10 pence piece. Please help, i am concerned. Is this normal.
