Fetal infection occurs only during primary parasitemia,so there is no fear if you had the infection before pregnancy and the test showed you are positive.If infection occurs in early pregnancy ultrasound may show hydrocephalus(large head with excess fluid) enalrged liver and sometimes patchy calcification in brain
