Treatment of Mycoplasma Ureaplasma after a succesful pregnancy.From: Nicole (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Sep 2002 10:57:56 -0500 (CDT)
I lost a baby at 22wks gestation. mycoplama/ureaplasma found on autopsy..chorioamnionits...debatable whether true incompetent cervix or loss caused by these bugs. before the next (succesful-38wk!) pregnancy.. my partner and i were treated with doxycycline 100 bid x14days...i was started on erythromycin at 6wks--34wks and, a cerclage placed,,and baby was fine. question.. before next pregnancy..1.should my husband and i be treated again with the doxycycline? 2. should i be given erythromycin again through pregnancy? (will definately have another cerclage..if my cervix wasn't damaged before from a leep and biopsy...then it may be now...i went into labor with the cerclage and dilated to 4(ended up with a section)..ladies please insist your cerclage be taken out at 36 wks..before labor begins!! (sorry, still upset about that)
