A few questions...

My doctor says that it is possible to tell the sex of the child via ultrasound as early as 16 weeks. With previous pregnancies, I have always had to schedule sono's at around 20 weeks. Is it REALLY possible for me to know the sex of this child in just 5 weeks???? (I'm 11 weeks now). I only get one sono per pregnancy unless more are indicative, and I want to make sure the sex is determinable. (It's my third, I'd like to know which of my children will be sharing a room) :)

Also, with past pregnancies, I've had very fast labors. Last one was only 22 minutes from start to finish, and I did not make it to the hospital. Because I am concerned about having this child at home, alone, with my other 2 children around, my doctor suggests that I just pick a day after 38 weeks, she'll give me a "pill", and I'll go into labor within an hour. She says it is the alternative to prostoglandulin gels. Does anyone know anything about this pill? And is picking the date for the birth a good idea?
