33 wks, BLEEDING & CRAMPINGFrom: Ang (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 25 Sep 2002 12:30:56 -0500 (CDT)
I am 33 wks pregnant. This is my third child. Second child was 5 1/2 weeks early. I have low lying placenta, but the last ultrasound done at 31 weeks showed things had moved pretty much out of the way. In my 31st week with this pregnancy, I went into labor, cervix softened and was about 1 cm, recieved Magnesium Sulfate at the hosptal, then sent home. Two days later I was back in, this time was given Terbutaline via IV. Was then sent home with Terbutaline pills. Was back in again abt 4 days ago with contractions 3 to 6 minutes apart, however I had not dilated any more, was given Terbutaline injections again, then sent home. This morning at 2:30 am I noticed bright bloody show and was cramping slightly, then called my doctor. My doctor says that as long as I wasn't bleeding heavily I was fine. My contractions have not been consistant and I am still taking the Terbutaline every 4 hours (althoughit does not seem to make much of a difference anymore) but I am cramping significantly more to the point of nausea. At 8am this morning the bleeding was brown, which I know means it's old, so I thought things were getting better, but it came back right away bright red. What could this mean? And how long should I let myself bleed like this before going back into the ER? Thanks so much...
