A little bit confused....From: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 19 Sep 2002 19:04:40 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 26 y/o w/ 2 children. I had a tubal ligation after the birth of my second, 8 weeks pp. I recently went to the ER for a UTI and they did a urine pregnancy test which came back positive. They did a semi-quantitive bHcG which came back at 11. I was told I was in fact pregnant just not very far along. I made a follow-up appt. 3 days later and they did a repeat serum test which came back as a 4. I was told I miscarried and no other tests were neccessary. When I had my tubal they only burned a small portion of each tube in the midsection( I have my operative report) What went wrong with the tubal ? Since they did not cut my tubes is it possible that the scar tissue healed over and "new" tubes were formed. I am still waiting to visit a new doc at IUPUI in a few weeks. I am so confused about this whole thing, since I assumed I couldn't "get pregnant" anymore. But the idea of another child is appealing to me now. Thank you for your help.
