Was 9 Weeks, but baby dies at 6, had D and C, confusedFrom: Cherie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 11 Sep 2002 11:35:56 -0500 (CDT)
I was 9 weeks pregnant today. yesterday i went in for an UL bc of spotting in the first trimester. I spotted for 3 days at the beginning of august, then again on august 23 and tehn august 30, then had some brown spotting this past sunday and monday. never, at any time, was it enough to even stain my panties, it was just there when i strained for a bowel movement and when i wiped. it never (except for the 3 days) lasted longer than a day. i didnt have cramping except for the first 3 days i was spotting. I am so confused. Why didnt i miscarry? why did the baby stay in me for 2 and 1/2 weeks dead? why did i have no indication that anything was really wrong? i am so worried and scareda bout my next pregnancy. i knew that the spotting wasnt a good sign, but it always stopped, was never heavy and not continuous. Help! My doctor gave me the option of d and c or waiting, but i did nto want to wait for the other shoe to fall, it is too stressful. why was she unconcerend about removal of tissue if it had been dead for so long??? is any of this "normal" for a miscarriage situation. This was my first pregnancy. Thank you. Cherie
