My "water broke" at 2:00 am last Tuesday morning. I wasn't sure if it was amniotic fluid or not either because it was just a wet spot on the sheets, followed by few drips here and there for the next hour. In any event, I went to the hospital and they were able to check with a strip and confirm it was amniotic fluid leakage. Apparently the leak was high in the amniotic sac, which can result in on/off leakage. My labor was induced (I was already contracting but not nearly close enough together) later that morning because once the sac is ruptured, the baby is at risk for infection. Hope this helps.
