38-39th week...How do you know if you are leaking Amniotic fluid - Graphic description sorry!

I have had steady leukorrhea (horrible spelling error here) discharge,
however, for the past week or so I feel that my discharge is more watery
and smells sweet (almost like sperm..sorry so graphic). the baby is
definately presenting lower. Anyway, i have an appointment with the
midwife on Friday. They don't normally do internal exams here in Norway
prior to going in to labor. Should I request an internal exam or amnio
fluid test just to make sure? The leaking is not a steady stream but it
is usually every once in awhile that a large wet spot appears in my
underwear. If I were leaking amnio fluid, would it be dangerous to just
not do anything about it until I do go into labor?
