I have what appears to be a strange situation. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I was pregnant. The first day of my last menstral cycle was 7/15/02. On 8/19/02, while I was away on a business trip, I started bleeding like a normal manstrual cycle. I assumed I was having a miscarriage and scheduled an appt. with my doctor. On 8/22, my doctor performed an ultrasound but found no sac. My hcg level was only 51 (which would be a VERY early pregnancy, not 5 or so weeks). I told the doctor that I had a little pain on my left side, so she feared it was an ectopic case. I have since had 2 more ultrasounds and 6 more blood tests. Today, 8/30, my hcg is 544, but my progesterone is only 6.1. My doctor decided to put me on a progesterone suppositories to bring the level up. I have another ultrasound scheduled for 8/5, as they feel I should be near an hcg of 1500 (level needed to see sac). As of right now, we don't know if there was a second conception that is now normal, or if there is still a threat of ectopic. I have done a ton of research, but I still can't find any answers to this scenario.
