6 wks. pregnant w/ bleeding and cramps... please readFrom: Colleen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 29 Aug 2002 17:05:28 -0500 (CDT)
My last period was on 7/11, but was shorter and lighter than usual. I took a HPT 7 days ago, which came back positive. I went to my OB/Gyn 3 days later and pregnancy was confirmed w/ hcg levels in the 400's. That night I started having light cramps w/ no bleeding. The next morning I still had cramps w/ very light pink to clear spotting. I went to the ER where they did an ultrasound, but couldn't see anything (they said it was way too early) and blood tests (levels were 459). I had about an hour of SEVERE cramps w/ period-like bleeding and continue to have light cramps and what appears to be a period regular for me - this is going on day 3. I have two fibroids and normally have very heavy periods w/ severe cramps and clots. I went back to the doctor yesterday for another blood test and she has given me a 50% chance of sustaining the pregnancy. I am going back tomorrow for another blood test and to go over the levels from yesterday. I am just wondering if it is in deed possible to carry this pregancy to term after 3 days of bleeding and if 50% is an accurate percentage. I know I will know more tomorrow, but I am anxious and worried.
