Artificially Inseminate or Not??

Hi All, Does artificially inseminating increase the odds of conceiving? When I was on gonal-F injections 3 yrs ago, my RE said it wasn't necessary to inseminate, and that we should just have traditional sex :) My sister's doctor thinks that is crazy, and that insemination will only increase your odds "putting them right where they need to go". Is this true? I guess it kinda makes sense. I'm TTC and would like the best possible odds in my favor. By the way, the gonal-F with the traditional sex did work for me on my first cycle, and I have my 2 yr. old to prove it!! Any input is appreciated..thanks!
