I am currently 34 1/2 weeks pregnant and have been in preterm labor since week 26. At my visit yesterday, I was 1 1/2 cm dialated 75% effaced and fully engaged. This is my 9th pregnancy (5 live births, 1 still born @ 24 weeks, 2 miscarriages). Last week, I fell down the stairs and injured my back (prior injury 5 years ago to the same area). After making sure the baby was ok, my GP gave me two prescriptions: a muscle relaxer and a pain killer. (flexeril & hydrocodone). Both my GP and OB said it is okay to take these during pregnancy but to be careful since I am in my last trimester. I'm a little confused about this. Exactlly what is the concern? I'm wondering if there is something else I can take instead.
