pimple on BreastFrom: Leila (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 6 Aug 2002 13:28:44 -0500 (CDT)
I am breastfeeding my 8 week old son. I developed some redness on a little area of the areola ( maybe 1/2 inch away frothe nipple). It has been going on for 2 days. I thought that it was maybe a skin irritation. 's definitely a skin issue because it's superficial. don't feel any lump. My breast is not swollen. My milk is still abondant. My OB told me to apply some neosporin. After I did that ( a few hours later), a little white head formed in the center of the red spot. I know that I should not breastfeed my son from that breast until the pimple goes away. In the mean time, I don't want to loose the milk from that breast. What should I do? Will a breast pump help in this case?
