34 weeks....bad weekend!From: bm (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 5 Aug 2002 01:29:14 -0500 (CDT)
Started on Fri night. I went to the hospital where I'm supposed to deliver (the medical system here is different) with a letter from my obgyn refering me there. Since baby is breech and I've already had 1 c-section due to fetal pelvic incompatibility, my ob said they would have to eventually schedule a c-section if baby does not turn. First of all there were no drs on service at 3:00 p.m., only nurses duing stress tests, so the nurse I spoke to booked my stress test which was supposed to be at 36 weeks for 38weeks and 3 days, I'm almost sure I won't make it that far, then proceeded to tell me that a breech baby doesn't mean they will perform a c-section, they could try a vaginal birth first! After my history, I asked? I'm not willing to take the risks. So she said its the dr who will decide when you come in for labor. I'm not waiting until labor to know what to expect, so today I'm going sit there with DH until a dr will talk to us and I want to know what the policy will should I go into labor and baby is still breech. If they will try a vaginal birth, I'm going to have to find another option, such as a hospital out of my area. So I was super stressed and crying on Fri night and on Sat I was so dizzy all day that I spent the afternoon in bed! Even with my eyes closed the room was spinning! At least today I'll have DH with me for support. Drs. what are the risks of a breech VBAC?
