Re: Fast labor..Running out of timeFrom: Anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 3 Aug 2002 12:29:42 -0500
No problem! My longest was less than 5 hours, after 3 episodes of false labor & she was delivered by a nurse. None have been delivered by my Dr. although the 3rd was delivered by a Dr. When my son was born, I wasn't frightened once I realized we had no choice but to deliver him at home - it was 20 minutes to the hospital! But I did have to calm my mother, sister & brothers who had arrived with her (I called her just in case since we had a 15 month old & my dh had been diagnosed the day before with mono & wasn't even allowed to lift her) & then arrange for her to be cared for, etc. I found out later that my mother thought he was a still-birth & was trying to figure out how to tell me - she had been knocked out with her kids. My mil has continued to count her blessings in that she changed her flight arrangements to come 2 months later - otherwise she would have been the one delivering him.
