Re: Dr. Aziz, is an hcg level of 56 at only 2 weeks along a sign of a bad pregnancy? From: Jackie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 31 Jul 2002 10:44:19 -0500 (CDT)
Thanks so much for writing to me Dr. You had it correct. 7/26 was 40 7/28 was 56 7/30 was 97 We've been told now that there is still a chance. We will check again on 8/5 and were told that we need numbers at least 400 or better to still have a chance. Do you agree with this? Is it possible that we dragged at first but that since things kind of picked up we could be ok? How slim are the chances of actually making it? I have read that sometimes too much value is put on HCG and that things can turn out totally different than what's expected. Is it true that 30% of all women miscarry their first pregnancy? Are there any explanations for this? Thanks again.
