You did not hit a sore spot. I have yet to mention how I feel about abortion. It's not appropriate for the subject matter at hand, if you read the original posting. As I explained, regardless of your free speech rights, I was just trying to gently remind you that not everyone is cut from the same cloth, not everyone views the situation the way you do, and however well intentioned you may be, some of the religious guilt and supposition may not be the kind of message you want to convey. And as was mentioned earlier, this is not an abortion debate.

Just because you *can* say something, doesn't mean you *have* to say something. Sometimes, it's best to paint with a broader stroke, and think about other possibilities.

I am glad you have found comfort in religion, and that it got you through your troubled time. That's what it is there for, and if that is what worked for you, then that's great. Jesus Christ as counselor would never work for me,and other people as well. That's what I meant about a broader stroke. You have to imagine the world as bigger than your own point of view.

I cannot imagine that you ever wanted to bring the original poster pain, but you may want to stop, think, and read over your postings, and realize that your position may bring her pain, and a struggle she doesn't need. She has already said she isn't reading the thread anymore, so we should just drop this, and let her find her way, whatever it may be. She didn't ask for your personal opinion on abortion, or what you feel the implications may be.

I do apologize if you thought I was trying to stifle your thoughts or restrict you. I like to be told when there is a different viewpoint out there, and I always try and take great care with my words, because you never know what life experiences someone may be coming at you with. I would never, in a public medical forum, post about religious tenets or issues related to a medical procedure, because it isn't a universal truth, and doesn't apply to everyone. And if it is a missionary effort, then it is even more inappropriate.

Peace to you.
