It's kind of a silly way to express it. What he must mean is that you are less than a day away from being six weeks pregnant. He should have just rounded up and said you were 'just about six weeks pregnant' or you could say you are 5 weeks, 6 days pregnant. I don't even know how you could be accurate to a tenth of a week! My preferred convention is to say "in your sixth week of pregnancy" when you are between exactly 5 and exactly 6 weeks. For example, I know that in this pregnancy my weeks end on Tuesdays so today I would say, if asked, that I am 33 weeks pregnant. From tomorrow until next Tuesday, I will say that I am "in my 34th week of pregnancy". Next Tuesday, I will say "I am 34 weeks pregnant", etc. Take care.
