Hi there, "Dad to be",

I am 18 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing similar pains. I have a pain that seems to "throb" occasionally, just above the bone and to the left. I have spoken to my OBGYN about this, and she suggested that it was probably due to stretching of the uterus, or the fact that there is increased blood flow to that area during pregnancy - at any rate, she didn't seem concerned. I've been reading up on the issue, and most sources say that it is a good sign if changing positions lessens the pain. If your wife is very concerned, she should speak with her doctor for advice or reassurance. Good luck to you and your wife. :)
