Heavy bleeding in early pregnancy, but still pregnant ..From: Kathleen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 14 Jul 2002 13:14:21 -0500 (CDT)
About 6 weeks into my pregnancy, I experienced *very* heavy bleeding. It was at this time that I figured I must have been pregnant and was having a miscarriage. I didn't know I was pregnant because I was bleeding off and on during the whole period. I went to the doctors to see if I had a complete miscarriage; they did an ultrasound and I am still pregnant, with healthy looking baby at this point. My question: Should I worry about the prior bleeding? Is there anything that I could do anyway if I were destined to lose the baby? Is it better just to drop it, sit back and see what happens? I'm 37. My doctor doesn't seem too impressed with the bleeding story anyway...she says 25% of pregnant women have bleeding. Personally, I'm a little sick of worrying about it. Thank you
