I am curious about the depo shot, I started it about a year ago this month...Me and my boyfriend were just wondering a few questions so we know. If you get your shot regularly for however many shots you've ever gotten, your body is used to getting it on time right? Well what if I am late to get my shot, but I do get my shot (I am just late like a few weeks or something), once I get my shot it would be like restarting the whole process again, right? Because my body went a while with out it in it's system. If I have sex, and for some reason or another, say the condom breaks, how long would it take for the shot to get through my system to start protecting against pregnancy? And if it didn't kick in until after we had intercourse and i tuned out to get prgnant by that one time of sex...would it kill the baby or in anyway harm it? And I know alchohol and other substances weaken regular birth control, but since this is a shot and it goes through your system on its own, does it still affect the percentage of protection? Please if anyone knows the answers to these questions, you would be helping me and my boyfriend out so much. THANK YOU.
