36 wk check up left with questions...From: kathy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 1 Jul 2002 15:58:52 -0500 (CDT)
First of all I tested positive for beta strep. I did not have it with my daughter that was born in 1997. I know that it comes and goes and that I will be treated during labor but my question is 1) will the baby be treated also? 2) What is the danger of this being transferred to the baby? 3) how will i know if I start leaking amniotic fluid if it's just a trickle? Now I am paranoid that I will start leaking and the baby will get infected with this Strep. Second my outer measurement did not increase this time. It was the same 2 weeks ago. (at that time my ob said it should increase 1 cm per week) this time she said it is completely normal for it to not increase and actually decreases sometimes as baby gets lower in pelvic area. (but she did not say the baby dropped) Is it normal for the measurement to stay the same? Thirdly, My weight for the past 5 weeks was the same (no gain at all--actually had lost a lb)weighed yesterday and was back up that one lb. Then this morning i had gained 4 lbs...that seems like a lot of fluid is this normal? thanks in advance Kathy
