Hi, I'm not a doctor, just a mom expecting my second baby. What you are experiencing sound to me like Braxton Hicks contractions, and they are usually normal and nothing to worry about. Make sure you are drinking enough fluids, as getting dehydrated can exacerbate them. I started getting them around 16w with my first, and noticed that they were usually more frequent while I was exercising, for some reason. I know there are guidelines as to when you should report them to your doctor (frequency, pain, etc.) and I'm sure you can find more information in the archives under Braxton Hicks. Take care! -Lynn
